Have you ever shopped at thrift stores? It sounds like you are uneducated or have a phobia about them. Departments stores donate brand new items with tags still attached all the time because they're a tax write-off. Very often I've run across new unopened merchandise and panty hose is one item that frequently gets discontinued and donated. People donate unopened gifts that they have no use for...relationships break up and spiteful ex-partners donate their old beaux's belongings in retalliation.

You really never know what treasures you might find. If you choose to give TS a try, I suggest going to shops that do not pre-price their merchandise because this is where the best bargains are found. I must warn you though, Thrift shopping is addictive.
