Default Phalaenopsis bloom having a rough day...

I just thought I would share this funny pic of my silly phal trying to open today - it looks like a bat Its having a rough day, for sure.

Mind you, this is one of those "holy cow, I think I'm going to die so I better make some flowers" spikes, so I'll be cutting it from the plant in about a week just to save the plant

Looks like it wants to open, the bloom buds look nice and large. Is the plant showing signs of stress?

Is it a girl bat

Gee, I second Lecents' question.
Could you post a pic of the plant? Why do you think the spike should be cut?

Hey all! I posted a new thread with the bloom fully open (I probably should have added it to this thread, I apologize!) I really think it should be cut bc this is a stress spike that came right up after I repotted into S&H, and the leaves are declining dreadfully...they are all floppy and generally in a bad state. I just really want to save the plant - I really like it, so as soon as all the blooms open (or most of them), I really need to cut it back....its sad, but for the plant's welfare, I gotta do it

Yeah I find that my healthy plants open their flowers in about a day and a half but the not so healthy ones take about 3 days to open. I would probably cut the the spike especially if the leaves are floppy.
