Susanne, OK - I'll just leave it alone. I was really worried that I would damage the plant if I tried to remove the keiki. I have no clue why the root for the baby is going straight up. It really looks weird. If the keiki gets as large as the main plant, I can't imagine how I'll brace the plant but I'll worry about that if and when it happens. Thanks to everyone for all your help.
