Obviously it likes the S/H method of potting? Nice color - I may try that one after I get back from Hawaii next month (if I haven't overspent my limit there on orchids!)

Yep! Will be on Big Island for two weeks (staying in Kona). Plan on a couple of the "gardens" and orchids (of course).

Very cool plant Marco and no such thing as too many pics....'specially when it looks like time-lapse. Nice Job!

Thanks everyone

It may just be me but as the flower gets older it look like the purple is somewhat bleeding onto the white.

I think it was about 48-60 hours from first to last picture

You must share the pictures with us when you get back

-----------

**edit** I have a question. On the second to last pic. There's a white halo/blur around the flower where the white meets the black showing on the black backdrop. Anyone got any tips on how to avoid this? Thanks

**edit #2** the purple in the photo doesn't do the plant justice. ok well time for bed

Marco - I don't see the halo/blur to mention. My monitor is a professionally calibrated LaCie electron blue IV that is color controlled via a USB connection to PC. Therefore it is extremely accurate for color and brightness/contrast. The image looks fine to me except, perhaps, for the small line that looks like part of a leaf near the 9:00 position. If this is the problem, then either move the leaf, reframe the image, or "photoshop the spot out". JMO.

BTW, the rose/purple is very intense on my monitor.
