Mini Mark Holmes finally Blooming

Everyone, finally my Mini Mark Holmes has started blooming there are apprx. 4 maybe 5 buds .
Have a concern regarding the leaves which appear to be turning reddish and appear to be softening. There are roots growing and new leaf starting to show. It has been in the s/h medium since I recieved it. Is this normal or is it getting to much light. It sits on the bottom shelf of the orchidarium. I have removed other Phals due to water getting in the center. Some of the Phals have had very soft leaves since they were purchased but the new leaves are not soft.
