Well bonsai, yes you are right, considering you can get more than one blooming plant for the same kind of money it sort of defeats the purpose.

However, if still considering, I came across the following... behold..... Keiki PASTE

Chula Orchids Newsletter/Catalog

I've never tried either, but this is cheaper

I know, all I'm saying is that keiki pro/paste are designed to ideally produce keikis however the least you can get out of your orchid is a flower spike! it will make it grow something

I agree with the people who say lots of phals will put up repeat spikes either before a flowering spike is finished, or soon after. Once they are mature, with span maybe 20" up.

However, I'm with CaseyDoll about the Newberry Parfait. Mine (from Carter and Holmes) set a spike right after I got it last fall, then set a second spike before the first one was thru. The second spike had lots of flowers and broke from the weight, and it immediately set still another spike.

C & H do say it is never out of bloom, and really, this is a beautiful phal however many you have. A big white with heavy substance, clear pink rim all around, and pink lip. Just two flowers make a nice show. Looks gorgeous next to a yellow. It's awarded, too, justly deserved IMO.

For a gift? Couldn't beat it.

This one is blooming now, last time was in november 07. And its a different spike, its grown a new leaf and some new roots sice last blooming. Theres 17 buds and flowers all together, and a tiny "nubbin" a bit lower on the spike.
floriferous phal?-img_0005-jpg

And i have another thats growing a new spike now, last blooming around january. Its got one new leaf, and one tiny growing, and ofcourse new roots.
Its not unncommon to have two blooming-seasone in a year, at least not in my home?
This is phals, hybrids, and i belive they are often too bloom twise than other chids? I dont know that for sure, as my experience is mostly with phals...

have you tried giving it a Temp shock? leave it for 4-6 weeks getting cold night (ok, not exactly cold, but the temps where you would start getting a pullover ) that works for my lazy Phal NOID white

or try Phal equestris... when mature they seem to be non-stop in bloom... so much that sometimes you can even get bored of the flowers

not me, I have to admit it!
