Default Phal. equestris ??? can someone confirm?

This opened for me a couple of days ago and it isn't the plant I bought or as labeled. Can anyone tell me if it is actually P. equestris?
Thank you,
Al

Thank you Sue, I thought so but my "real" P. equestris hasn't flowered yet. This plant wasn't supposed to be equestris........surprise! The vendor will refund my money if I return the plant (at my expense) sans roots.
I can't kill a perfectly nice plant for a few bucks so now I have two.

Well Al, that is very beautiful, could it be that the labels got mixed up and your P.equestris will match the label of the Phal MIA?

Anywho, just out of curiosity.... what was the one you were supposed to get?

PS why would a vendor want you to kill the plant? what's wrong with the world

Hi Priz,
No, the labels didn't get mixed up. I bought two with the "buy it now" option on e-bay.
The plant probably got put into the wrong tray at the vendor's.
Anyway, it was supposed to be P. hieroglyphica and I just ordered one from Big Leaf Orchids. This one I know will be correct and Peter is a joy to work with.

The vendor offered me a refund if I would cut the roots off the plant and return it. I never asked for a refund, just wanted the plant I bought. Oh well, another e-bay-er on my do not buy from again list.

Al

I think the plant I got (P. equestris) was just a mistake. I've bought from this vendor before with no problem. The "cut the roots off and return the plant at your expense" is just a policy they have because of some folks trying to take advantage of sellers. I understand it. If anyone wants the e-bay name, PM me.
Meanwhile I'm enjoying my little P. equestris, I have it hanging on the lattice work beside my chair. I was just disappointed that after waiting and watching for all this time it wasn't the P. hiero I was expecting!
