Hi Helen,
You'll find pics of my phals at the link below. The pictures with the newest date would be the ones in bloom now or just gone out of bloom. I post to this site and to the OB when a new one comes into blossom.
Thanks for asking.
AL
P.S.
as you will see, I'm a bit nutsy over Phals.!
You can also find some of my pics here in the gallery, just look for bird song farm

Thanks Helen, I sure wish Brother Little Spotty would show something! Looks like it's going to skip this year or it's just waiting for fall.....

Hi Helen, congrats on this first bloom. This hybrid holds a special place in my heart too becuase it is my first Phal to bloom on me multiple times. I have two spikes on mine, one of which had been in bloom from Christmas time till late May.

Tin, that's super! I guess it's a great phal to own, especially if you need to build some confidence!
Nice to hear from you, I've been away quite a bit, hopefully I'll be back in full swing here by fall.
I'm hoping for a 2nd spike eventually...or at least a secondary from the one I have now...I have to read up on where to cut the spike, or if to cut it at all....I can't remember right now....'dah'

Helen,
I have a question, when you bought this plant was it already in bloom? is this your first bloom since then? If so how long did it take for you to achieve that bloom on your own.

Yes, when I first bought this phal in April last year it had one or two blooms left on it. I bought my other phal in June of last year, and it is also in spike with buds starting to form now. Therefore, I'd say 10 - 12 months under normal lighting conditions. Once a new leaf grows, the spike will then form. It's important that the new leaf is as big or bigger than the previous one. If it's smaller then the 'chid is not getting what it needs.
Hope this answers your question.
