Phal. Brother Lancer flowers part 2
Hey there everyone just thought I would share one of my 'chids' with all of you. This Phal Brother Lancer I purchased at one of the BB stores and it was in an ok condition. This 'chid' was repotted in about 2.5 months ago in S/H medium. It was blooming when I purchased it and as you can see its doing it again on the same spike the color intensity is much better the 2nd time around. It must like the medium.. It is not in the orchidarium. I did use KLN when it was repotted. You can see the places where the old blooms were.
Enjoy the

Your flower is lovely....it seems like déjà vu. I posted pics of what I have labeled Brother Lancer and it didn't look anything like the pics back then nor yours now...I can't recall where I got mine and it certainly could have had a "tag change" procedure or maybe mine is working undercover for the CIA Whatever the case may be, you have a beauty....
This is my Phal Brother Lancer
This is a Noid of mine that "looks" like yours...sort of

Phal. Brother Lancer
BikerDoc, I think I purchased this orchid at Lowes and oddly enough it had a label. I just thought it odd that it is blooming again after all the old flowers faded. Is that normal for them to do that? Yours are very pretty as well are they both called Brother Lancer. I have another called Brother Little Yellowboy and its putting out new roots and leaves and its still in flower. Are they getting to much of something or are them extremly happy
Thanks for the input

H - it may not be undercover as I found this Phal Brother Lancer 'TK' at Paramount Orchids that looks a lot like yours - http://www.paramountorchids.com/jpg/...%20TK1copy.JPG
and like Sheridan's - Phalaenopsis Brother Lancer '348' shown here - Growing Phalaenopsis Orchids in Big Bend, Wisconsin
Differences in unique characteristics like specific color patterns, within the same hybrid, are the result of culitivation. (Note the cultivar's epithets are different despite the hybrid is the same for both plants.)

The 2nd flower is a noid, not BL...just a happy noid. And, yes, I have several orchids that have flowered and are continuing to add new buds to the end of the old spike and/or side branches. Some are growing new roots and new leaves and still have unopened buds. I would say you are just fine...not that I'm any kind of expert. Usually, for me, not necessarily for others, once the spike is pretty much spent, I cut it at the base of the spike because I want new spikes next season and I really don't want the plant to be expending energy with flowers now when they are supposed to be growing leaves and roots...to help them accomplish this I change over to a higher nitrogen fertilizer in early April and back to a higher phosphate/potassium food. Not all on this or any other board will agree with this...everyone has a plan that works for them...good growing

Very pretty Sheridan! I just love phals.
Dorothy, I don't know how you do it. Some of this hybrid stuff simply blows my mind!
