Twyford Lava Glow
I have this phal from my mother who cared for it for many years. The label is Twyford Lava Glow. I can't find much information on line about it other than a single other post of a different forum. which says it is basically a NOID due to lack of known parentage. I can find one reference online to a Twyford plant lab which was associated with Kerry's Nurseries which shut down in 2013.
So, having said all that, just wondering if anyone knows any more about the company, Twyford, or more information on the plant. Just for my curiosity tbh.
Otherwise, enjoy the picture. My mother had this plant for a long time and said it always reliably bloomed in her sunroom. I took it when we had to move her and it suffered in my care until I found the SH method, which seems to be working well for me now. I am very happy because it means a lot to me to be able to continue growing this plant for her.

I suspect it was purchased at a fancy but all purpose type garden center.

There is no such Phal. registered.
I looked through the US patented Phals.:
Patent Public Search | USPTO
and couldn't find this plant. Perhaps they never completed the process. Perhaps it was denied. Or - many plants receive patents on commercial names that look more like serial numbers, and are then marketed under a different name. The patent office doesn't receive that information.
On Orchidtalk, a board where I am not a member, a photo of Twyford's Phal. Lava Glow is shown:
Phal 'lava glow'
It is very different from your plant and, given the parentage mentioned later in that thread, it is unlikely that plant and your plant are the same cross. My guess is one of the plants has the wrong name tag.

It is difficult to know, really. I would just enjoy it and not worry too much about the name being registered or correct. Sometimes, we have to remember that we can keep orchids just because they are beautiful and bring us joy. It is very pretty!

Thank you! I have never researched a patent before. Now I know!

That "Patent Pending" verbiage may have just been intended to scare off would-be copycats. Don't know that it would be all that effective, but print is cheap.

Looks a lot like P. KV Beauty that I got at Lowe's.

IMO, looks like Baldans Kaleidoscope in the background. Very pretty.
