So, where would you cut this one? It's growing sideways not up, and already has a keiki at the base.

It doesn't look to me like they are connected. If that's the case, give it a good soaking, unpot the whole mass, and "tease" the roots apart.

If they are connected, I'd cut pretty much along the line indicated by the longer of the two old spikes.

When it's done blooming, I'll give it a good soak, unpot and see how it looks. I'm pretty sure the two plants are connected. The big plant had stem rot about three years ago, that's the black area. I treated it with Physan, had very low expectations but it recovered. It put out a lot of aerial roots, turned sideways and sprouted the basal keiki (which bloomed last year).
I've been trying to figure out how to repot it, I think cutting the stem is probably best, thanks for your recommendation.
Is it OK to put both of the resulting plants together in the same pot?

You can pot together, or do like florists do and pot up each separately, then put into a cache pot together. Have you seen that done?
