When it's done blooming, I'll give it a good soak, unpot and see how it looks. I'm pretty sure the two plants are connected. The big plant had stem rot about three years ago, that's the black area. I treated it with Physan, had very low expectations but it recovered. It put out a lot of aerial roots, turned sideways and sprouted the basal keiki (which bloomed last year).
I've been trying to figure out how to repot it, I think cutting the stem is probably best, thanks for your recommendation.
Is it OK to put both of the resulting plants together in the same pot?
