Looking at the color of the leaves, it might be getting too little light as they are of a darker shade of green than normal. The polycarbonate you're using is tinted, and from what I have seen for sale, the smokey colored panels block around %75 light, in conjunction with 60% shadecloth, it very well could be insufficient light. Have you bloomed your vandas in your greenhouse?

Hi, I was keeping the Phals in my GH, then moved them to the covered pool patio this week, to get more light.

When I first built that GH, the first days it only had that poly, and the Tan shadecloth on it, (in pic of GH). I put all my orchids in there, and in the first day after that, the top row of orchids(catts), near the ceiling, where sooooo burnt, that I had to cut back soooo much of them! So I (thought) I didn't have enought shade for them with the smoke poly, and the tan shade cloth.

So that's when I went and bought the Aluminet for it, as you see in the pic. From then on, no burn. But I guess no light either?

As for the Vanda's- NO

I took off the Aluminet this past weekend. Duing a test, and watching the heat. I'm just sooooo afraid to burn them again.

I have an exhast fan in there, 3 windows, and 3 fans, 2 small, 1 large, Blowing at all hrs. And a Humidifier too, but not always running.

I didn't know that smoke poly gave so much shade?? 75%, WOW!! I don't know why my babies burned on their first day, if it has that much shade, plus I had the Tan shade cloth on there too that day, adding even more shade!?

It took me about a week to get the Aluminet. I actually put a light 'Blanket' on top of the GH from day 2 after the top row burned up, until the Aluminet showed up.
I haven't gotten any burn since Aluminet's been on.

I guess I will see what this next week does. As It's back to the way it was on day 1 of the GH. No Aluminet, just the Tan cloth.

I thought about hanging my Vanda's outside, but didn't know if they can take "ANY" sun that might get them?

Thanks for letting me know of that DARK House I have. I've always knew that it was darker than it should be. But being in Florida, and the first bad day with it, I figured I better cover her up even more with Aluminet.

I hope that this helps you understand what I got going on in that little GH!

Thanks!
