Awfully glad to hear that. It would be a shame to lose such a lovely plant. Baby it and lets hope it does extra well!

As spring time is hear [in Florida] I mounted this plant, today! With hope that it finally likes it home.

I purchased the plant as a bare root import several years past. It has always flowered for me just never really had any vigorous growth

Bet it will be happy now. Please take a picture now and then again in a couple of months. It would be nice to compare. Thanks for taking the extra effort, I just hate to see something so beautiful leave us when it might be prevented. I'd strongly recommend K-L-N. I have no interest in the company but it sure works!

Well Bird Song Farm, this goes out to you.

Once upon a time I purchased (from a well known Taiwan breeder) a Phal. Star of Florida it was a beautiful plant, well grown and looked healthy. I paid $500.00 USD for the plant. Yes; I know let the insults and jokes begin. Do not bother sending Private Messages I am not interested in Ocean front property, you have for sale in Denver, CO. Let's proceed, the best is yet to come.

I owned it for about a year and it flowered. The plant had just two flowers, however, the fragrance was so strong it filled the entire house, and the flowers were great. At the time I was growing all my Orchids indoors—applying indoor horticulture techniques, and my plants were doing well. My collection got two large and I moved the plants outside.

Hear is what it looks like today ... a beauty.

It has looked like this for about one year. After it died I place the plant in a large zipplock bag, w/some moss.

With closer inspection you can see there is new growth. With luck this will produce some new plants.

Hear is the only picture I have of the flower.

Thanks for sharing the story, not only for me but for all the OB members. It truly shows what a plant will do to live. Given the slightest chance they will survive. I'm so glad you had the patience and forethought to ''bag'' it and wait.
It's a beautiful blossom, do you know the name or parentage? Must have some P. violacea to have that much scent? Won't you be happy to see it blossom again!

Your flowers appear more waxy and more deeply colored than mine. I posted pics of it earlier so these are more recent pics and since someone wanted to see what the plant looks like....I tried....my pics aren't the best today....me thinks too much caffeine and too early in the AM....
