New Phalaenopsis orchids-had a binge.
Well in the last two days, I brought four new phals home, Some of you have been helping me with one of my new favorites, a mislabeled phal, in the identification forum. Just thought I'd post some pics. I won't bother with id's since they came from Lowe's (hurry and buy the poor small phals stuffed into GLASS cubes) . I love the yellow one, the small one with no flowers I got for $5.

All very pretty! See, you have aquired orchiditis!
The small one in the glass cube is probably one of the new "mini's" on the market. They seem to originate from a SOGO line they have developed for the 'windowsill' market. I have two now and, no doubt, will have more.......I'm very, very sick.

They all are so pretty! I don't think I could of left any of them there either. Great choices!
Al, don't worry, I'm sick too. I can't walk into any store that sell orchids (especially phals) and not walk out with one! I need help!

I think we all need help. I'm looking at moving just so I can have a whole room for orchids, preferably a screen room. Just watch me go crazy then! I can't wait!

Nice picks!
I was at my local Lowe's a few days ago, they must've just gotten a new shipment as the racks were overloaded! I did see one in a glass cube that I was SO tempted to pick up...I could see there was equestris in it's parentage but there was no tag! I left it there but have been thinking about it ever since
have you called the realtor yet?

Not that I'm an enabler or anything like that, but you might be able to track it down from the SOGO site, they have an awfully lot of there mini's pictured.........

Hi and Welcome! That 3rd one "looks like" a Sara Gold 'Peach' and it's beautiful. Nice haul on all of them, by the way.
Why is it I never get to the store when a new shipment arrives. There should be signs on the side of the road or something "Orchid Alert" to give us a head's up!

Hey KiKi-do,
I know what you mean. The least they could do is alert the news media! I tracked down the person who tends the "tropicals" at HD and asked when the shipments came in......she was right!
Might help at your closest big box....
AL
P.S.
To you lucky folks who live in cities, you have access to green houses and nurseries that we don't! So we are left with what we can find and where, especially during our 6 months of winter. My closest orchid green house is 180 miles away and thats one-way!
If we find a few Phals at a nursery or green house it's considered a good day!

Reason: spelling, of course. :-)

Hi, kimstwin. Nice haul! I agree that the yellow looks like Brother Sara Gold, can't be sure of the cultivar. It could be 'Peach' or one of the others. It's an exceptionally beautiful phal.
