Mini Mark is cloned, it just doesn’t seem to be imported into the United States regularly or in numbers. Novelty type Phals in general don’t seem to make it into retail stores here. At most United States online sellers $35 seems to be near the bottom in terms of Phalaenopsis offered that are anything other than a complex hybrid so $55 seems pretty reasonable (I snagged one).
Even though a lot of collectors want them, they don’t seem to have mass market appeal so I don’t think there is the economic driver to propagate and import them in large numbers. There are somewhat similarly colored mini Phals in the box stores that may be more forgiving husbandry wise and more floriferous that retail for $8.
