Yes; that is my opinion. I would prefer this species to be flat, if not the sepals, slightly reflexed. This species is known to have lateral sepals that are quite 'bowlegged'. I was hoping that this sample would be flat and not as 'bowlegged' as some. In my opinion, these traits (flat & not as 'bowlegged' ) would make it a much better sample of mannii—than is commonly seen in cultivation.

As mentioned by bird song farm; I have hope that it will flatten out over the next day or two. With the flower being cupped you can not really tell how 'bowlegged' it will be. As stated by shakkai for a first time flowering seedling it shows good potential. If this flower does indeed flatten out or become reflexed I will post pictures hear.

No. However, I am pleased with the color.

This is a great color form for Phal. mannii! I've never seen such a great coloration in this species! :)
BTW, the Germans are calling this one Phal. mannii f. dunkel...

This variety is being distribute, in the US, as Phal. mannii 'mahogany'. It is not yet described, by taxonomist!
