this is something that I am hoping will turn into a new plant after the crown rotted on this phal. The location is very similar.
I will name it Sputniki after the russian satellite Sputnik which was a pioneer at the time it was launched so hopefully my Sputniki will shoot up as fast as the satellite I've named it after.

Default believe it or not

Someone actually tossed this orchid out. Left in on top of a recycle bin in my folks apartment building. When I found it, it was no worse for wear. Flowers were all gone. All I did was remove the old flower spikes. I'll keep you guys posted as to what's going on.

Given the concave nature of the end, it looks like a keiki - which could stop developing at any time. Not unusual. It is not an unusual spot either. Seen it a dozen times.
