Default Mini Phal wont grow

Hi,

I have had 1 mini phal noid and a Pink Twilight for more than a year and they will not grow anything. The twilight is not a mini but not big like the others. Both have some root growth but thats it . In the same spot i have 3 regular phals and they are growing; roots, spikes and leaves all at the same time. They dropped their flowers and the old spikes just grew a bunch of new buds.

Can any one please tell me what the problem might be. I bought them in bloom so i know they are mature.

Soon

Take a look in this thread:

There's some growing info on the Phal Pink Twilight listed when you scroll down a few replies.

well as long they are doing something i dont think you should be worried. a lot of times a phal wont grow a new leaf until the oldest falls off.

as for no spikes... maybe not enough of a temperature drop? or maybe they are just not ready to bloom again yet... have you looked at the roots? is the potting mix still good?

good luck

Susanne; I looked at the thread before and i dont think watering is it because i make sure they do not get too dry.

Nick; The potting mix is still good but the temp drop is something i haven't even thought about. How would i go about that? Would it be ok if i started putting them outside at night, i mean when the temp dont drop so much anymore?

Thank you

oh well seems like u're from toronto, haha. which end? i'm from richmond hill

and no leaving them outside at nite... toronto is still way too cold at night... if u are growing on the windowsill, they are already getting the temperature drop so then are just probably not ready to bloom again yet. if not, move them closer to the windowsill or into a cooler room.

btw, do u fertilize? they are still flowers that need food, haha!! if so wat do u use?

Were neighbours!!!! i'm in Thornhill, the weather could be worse it could be snow instead of rain.
I have a huge east facing window but even in the winter it gets way too much sun, so much i had to move my cymb cause it was getting sun burned in the winter! So my chids are not directly in front of the window but they all get plenty of light and i have artificial light in case.

In the winter i was feeding once every 2 waterings now i'm watering weekly i use schultz. The thing is i have all different chids everybody is in active growth one way or another, except above mentioned ladies.
