An experiment for me with the macro lens.
BikerDoc, Ross, and anyone else; please tell me how it could have been better!

That brings to light one reason that NOIDS get a bad rep...the pic you posted is stunning and if the plant had a name, I could run out...right now...and get one

Since I'll have to live vicariously through you, Al...could we see a picture of the whole bloom, please

Al, I'm not sure it could be any better. What f-stop did you use? The depth of focus seems pretty shallow to me. But I like the affect very much as well as the colors of that one.

Wow, I couldn't make it that good if I was trying to save my life by taking the pic. It looks like it would make a fantastic avatar too!

Wow! Do you ever print out and frame any of these closeup pictures? This one would be worth it....I would buy it if I saw something like this available!

Ross, F stop was 3.5, I can't get the d*** depth of field thing through my thick skull! And thanks! I have no training and am depending on the camera and the manual.

Sue: Lens was virtually inside the throat which changed the light and made the purple undertones of the red come out. Picture is in my album, I think it's call yellow NOID with slash.....anyway, the lip looks red/purple at a normal viewing range.

Thanks Tin, I owe it to the camera and I am still learning all of its features.

Al
