Default Most Fragrant Phalaenopsis

Title says it all. Most fragrant, not necessarily best fragrance.

Two phals that I have that fill my grow room with fragrance are Phal Belina (duh) and Phal Citrus Candy

I really like my Phal bellina's fragrance. It is a strong floral without being obnoxious. I imagine that there is some variation in the scent, though, as I had a bellina that had very nice flowers but almost no fragrance (found a new home for it).

Phalaenopsis sumatrana is by far the most fragrant of my collection, I don't particularly like the scent. The most pleasant strongly fragrant is Liodoro Sweet Memory with that citrusy bellina fragrance.

I have barely explored all the phals there are but based on my research mainly from here https://www.canadianorchidcongress.ca/Fragrant.pdf

The main fragrant phals are:

P. Violacea - flowers all year long, malaysia varieties have more flowers and longer flower spikes, there are also lots of lovely hybrids like the purple martin hybrid which is one of the best violacea hybrids in my opinion
P. Bellina (smells like floral lemon) flowers all year long
P. Modesta
P. Speciosa
P. Schillerina
P. Lueddemanniana
P. Corningiana (smells like cinnamon) flowers in SPRING, possibly again in Autumn

Those are the strongest smelling ones apparently but there are lots of other fragrant ones too. I think Mariae can be quite powerful because a healthy plant will produce lots of flowers.

The liodoro 'sweet memory' is a bellina or violacea hybrid that produces much more flowers than a Bellina ever could so although I haven't smelled it yet I have hear lots of good things about the liodoro too.

Also just as a sidenote possibly the sedirea japonica should make the list, it has now been reclassified as a phalaenopsis.
