Don't even THINK of cutting spikes! That plant is recovering, well done!

(In general, I don't cut anything green! An old spike doesn't weaken a plant, it provides reserves that the plant can use as it "recycles" the tissue and moisture that likely is contained in it!)

sorry for OT, but happens to me exactly in the same way!
I bought one peters pride from ebay:bigleaveorchids and the tetra striped from Haussermans. Both came in this clear strech containers with moss only. While the Peters Pride was doing great the striped one never took off. Than I decided to put them both into fern needle / bark mix under grow light and since then she took off like a rocket!

Hope she will open anyday soon!

Sad update but unfortunately my tetrapsis did not make it :-(. It was so weak, and after the winter freeze in TX i think it was just too much for it. All of the new little roots it had grown, turned yellow and died off, and stems all starting yellowing and browned. Leaves all yellowed too. All of my other orchids made it and did okay. I'm very sad. I think it was partially my fault in the beginning. Sad but I supposed valuable learning. I'll have to hope I can come across another one someday and get it right. Thanks everyone for your help and support <3

It's sad you had such cold weather. Tetraspis might have trouble surviving if it gets below 50 degrees F / 10C for more than a few hours.
