Well, I have a little available shelf space. It's bright, a good shelf for phals and orchids that like the same conditions. I'm pondering an order with Hauserman's, and so I'd like suggestions on your favorite compact phals. Pictures would be great.

Compact.

So I looked to see what Hausermann's have listed, I would go with two species sumatrana and venosa.

They are both in my experience slow growing, but flower when small - mine are in 3" pots. Both are fragrant - sumatra I recently posted has a strange plastic smell and venosa smells like smoked meat.

Funny, I was just browsing the Hausermann's site this morning. I'm yearning for something new. Do you have a Phal. Jiaho's Pink Girl? I bought one from Hausermann's about a year ago, and it does stay quite small (so far, anyway). It was in bud when I got it. A couple buds blasted, and I think I ended up with around eight flowers. Not as flower-heavy as the one pictured on their site, but still a nice little orchid. Mine is putting something out right now that I think is a spike. The leaves are slightly mottled, though I think lighting will influence how much or how little. It seems like the new leaves look distinctly mottled, but as they mature, they look more solid green.

I was admiring the Phal. Mini Lipstick 'M203,' as well. The name would suggest it's a compact plant, but it's already in a 4" pot, so I don't know.

If you aren't looking specially for something Hausermann has, then I'd suggest Phal pallens. It's a cute little Phal, very floriferous, and most importantly very small.

Sigh. People keep posting pictures of their amazing phals. But, you're giving me suggestions of things you'd like to have. Let's see the pictures and recommendations of what you're growing that you love. I'm partial to Hauserman's but...

Now that's the spirit. What a cutie! Thanks Camille. A candidate. It's a little different too.
