I just got a 3 screw type socket (old style) pole lamp that I would like to set up near my orchid bench for extra lighting.
Any special recommendations or advice on choosing 3 plant gro light bulbs?

I had one of those things a long time ago, and I think I just plugged in some 'grow light' spotlight type bulbs from home depot I think.....it really isn't very efficient tho....

Look at the IKEA website. They have some Vaxter? Gro lights that one of the OB members loved. I bought one but haven't tried it yet. That is a great idea, btw!

I go there often. Want me to get them and mail them to you? Actually, I have one here if you want to try it.
But, these e Bay bulbs are cheaper for sure...one of the guys could probably compare them better than me.

The IKEA lamps are 10 watts, so unless you can find a way to put most of your plants within 12"-18" of them, they are of little value.

Go to Home Depot and find the largest-wattage LED flood light bulbs they carry. When I sold my greenhouse, I had a lot of plants under 17 watt Cree indoor/outdoor floods at a distance of 24" or more, and several were developing pigmentation from the light level.

Home Depot and Lowes carry a wider variety of bulbs online, and they will usually ship them to your local store for no additional charge. The highest-intensity ones Ray recommends are more likely to be available only online rather than stocked in the store.

When talking about largest available what wattage are we talking about?

My lamp to shelf measurements will be approximately 20", 36" & 48".
