Low night time temps
Default Low night time temps

I'm leaving town for a several days. First couple of days AM temps forecast 45-50 I have Dendrobium, Cats, Vandas, neos, gram elegan , Phrag Can I leave any of these outside? Live in Gaithersburg, Md

I don't have experience in all the genus you've mentioned... also so of them have such a diversity that some species/hybrids can tolerate cold while others don't (like catts and dens).
But, from what I've read vandas are warm growers so I believe they shouldn't stay outside.
Let's see what others have to say.

I think that the vandas and grammatophyllum would do better if not allowed to get that cool. The others are probably OK.

Personally, I try to avoid anything going below 50°F.

The problem with leaving for a few days at this time of year is that sometimes the forecast can change and you might get colder than expected temperatures. I would bring all of them inside just to be safe. Of course, I live in Ohio and our weather may be more unpredictable.
