I'm not positive on this one, but I think this is the explanation.
Once you open an Orchid Board message, it stays in communication with the server for a limited amount of time. During that time you can Like, Quote or add another message to the thread.
If you wait past the time, the server drops the connection, and you can't use that window. You have to reopen the message. From observation, I think the time is somewhere around 1 hour.
The problem is, you might have written a message that gets dumped.
My solution - I just write quick messages and post them. When I write longer messages I write them in a text program, then paste into the Orchid Board box, and post.
It can take a while to post photos when you're learning. Another approach is to write the text, post it, then click the Edit button and add your photos. That way the text doesn't get lost.
