I pushed my 2 three-tier plant stands side-by-side and removed the 2 inner T5s. Only the 2 outer fixtures ( there are 2 fixtures per tier ) have working lights. Even with doing that, temps have reached 83f during the day. Currently I only have seedlings in the stands and they definitely appreciate the lesser intensity, but am experimenting with a mature plant at the moment. I am also going to look at the time the lights are on too as I have read that too much light intensity can be worse than too little.
