Hmmmmmm...interesting ray.

I just realized something. My basement gets into the 50s during the winter. I might want to go with the hid lights. I thought I read somewhere that they give off heat. Hmmmmmm

I've been buying T5 High Output, 4 ft, 4 lamp fixtures with two grow tubes (blue) and two bloom tubes (red). They used to cost about $140 each but the price keeps dropping. I think I paid $86 (delivered) the last time. I like dealing with Growershouse.com.

Recently someone told me that the flouresent tubes lose a lot of spectrum very quickly. Don't know, I get spectacular results with the phals. Not so happy with the results on the cats and dends.

Planning on going with the 4 ft leds. That will cost closer to $200, and consists of
  1. AgroLED T5 HO Combination 44 Fixture - Accomodates both AgroLED T8 tubes and T5 HO lamps. Agro LED tubes and T5 bulbs sold separately. This fixture fits 2 LED tubes and 2 T5 High Output bulbs $104.
  2. LED T8 alternative to fluorescent T5 and T8 grow lgihts. 22w per bulb. T8 red is 660nm red wavelength. Lifetime of 50,000 hours. Use only in Agro LED fixtures--bulbs are self-ballasted. $62.00.
  3. LED T8 alternative to fluorescent T5 and T8 grow lgihts. 22w per bulb. T8 red is 420nm (5500k) wavelength. Lifetime of 50,000 hours. Use only in Agro LED fixtures--bulbs are self-ballasted. $62.00.
  4. Two T5 HO flouresent Tubes $13.00.
