Default Info on Light for Beginners

Evening, all.

I am actually taking a college course in remote sensing, and among my reading assignments was the this webpage, which has been made into a PDF for my course:
Light and Plants

It talks about light that plants need, in what wavelengths, PAR values of each type of light, etc. It is very simple to understand and doesn't get too technical (which is good if you're like me and tend to get lost in technical speak when trying to research this topic).

So I thought I'd share it here for people who are just beginning to research light and keeping plants under lights/supplementing light over the winter.

Pretty neat article. I plan just to ask someone at our OS to point me in the right direction. I need a light for some bulbs I am growing indoors.

I have found a lot of the information on the thread about Ray's new LED lights is pretty helpful as well, albeit a little confusing for me, lol. We are planning on buying a few of his lights to supplement our guys over winter. Our windows only face west, so..^^; not enough sun!

I think this one is great too as a starting point. It sort lets you 'wade in' before going to the deep end of the pool!

There is this one too, even more simplistic, and perhaps targeted for plants like casual Paph's.
