I have used a couple humidifier (for baby, music instruments, and orchids) and this one is pretty good:

Amazon.com: Crane Drop Shape Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier with 2.3 Gallon output per day: Health & Personal Care

A cool mist type (ultrasonic) humidifier consumes less electricity than a warm mist humidifier, and it's quiet. But some of them don't last long. You can control it with:

Amazon.com: Zoo Med HygroTherm Humidity and Temperature Controller: Pet Supplies

If you are humidifying a small enclosure/grow tent, you can easily attach a hose from Home Depot, and the sensor of HygroTherm can go into the enclosure.

If you are controlling RH of entire room, this works, too:
Amazon.com: Dayton 1UHG3 Humidifier Control, Plug In, 120 V: Home Improvement

It works well, but I prefer HygroTherm (since it can control both RH and Temp).

Get an Aprilaire 600 whole house humidifier, you will be able to put orchids all over the house.
