position of grow light(vertical or horizontal) does it matter?

I have an extra tek light that I quit using on my aquarium.

I also have a handful of mounted orchids on sticks that I want to give extra light to this winter during their rest.

Does the t5 light fixture produce the same output if it is hanging vertically vs the usual horizontal position?? I want to hang the orchids on sticks against the wall instead of laying them down on a table.
