Default My HL chamber

I renovated my HL chamber, put up nicer curtains that seal in humidity better and are nice and clear. I also added a sundew section. This is where I grow the majority of my carnivorous plants, as well as a large portion of my orchids. Temperatures range from 65-78F summer and 50-70F winter, lighting is supplied by a Sunblaze 48 T5 HO fixture, humidity is supplied by an ultrasonic humidifier, and in the winter, an aditional warm air humidifier for warmth. the chamber also contains an occillating fan.

New curtains...they are crystal clear..the foggynes is the condensation on them.

Sundew section add on.

Pics of the inside to come soon.

real impressive set up...but on the last picture on the lower left...by the twigs and branches: is that a coral snake coiled under the heart shaped leaf?

Does look like a snake but after some close looking, it's a pitcher plant. The leaf is the top and the snake looking area is the lip of the pitcher plant.

You have a big collection. It's pretty dark, do you keep everything in a basement? What kind of temps do you average?

Indeed...the pitcher plant has a striped lip, and the "heart shaped leaf" is actually a matching lid.

I keep all of my obligate cool growers in the basement, anything thar requires cool temps and high humidity to grow well. Most of my collection is currently down there, since the only things I can grow upstairs are species that can tolerate low humidity in the winter. The chamber is also much brighter than it appears, the high power T5 I'm using can actually cause leaf burns on shade loving plants if they are too close. Temperatures vary with the seasons, but I typically get winter temps with 68F days and 53F nights, and summer temps with 77F days and 64F nights.
