Great idea. Phone shows 10240 lux at the top of the leaves. If Google is right that is around 1000 fc.

That's about right. Stupid conversion, but I just divide lux by 10 to get rough fcs. 1000 should be plenty for most phals. Just keep an eye out for "purpling" or spotting of purple on the leaves. This is a sign of good light, but it can possibly burn. I'd slowly acclimate them to this height over a couple weeks to make sure they dont burn, but it should be fine.

Yea, I need to get a timer and then I will be good.

Only issue is my phals with a keiki is super close. It's about 6" away so I'm going to have to really watch it.

I've kind of placed it so it's out of the direct light yet it still gets about half the light. I think I got a happy with the sun the last couple weeks as its new leaf is a shade of purple.
