New member here, sorry if this has been covered before.
I want to add a compact orchid growing light setup for my small collection in my living room but I'm not sure which way to go. Would anyone be able to make a recommendation?
Right now, even my compact Catts. and Brassavolas in my south facing sunroom show signs of over-exposure (red pigmentation, small leaves.) On the other hand my Phals. and mini species on my north-west and east windowsills are all growing slanted leaves (towards the light.) I want to reach a good balance. I used to use a 48" fluorescent shoplight with 1 cool and 1 warm white tube in my laundry room but can't anymore.
I'm considering a compact light stand:
Indoor Gardening Supplies : Value Line Stand SL44F2 : $236.00
or a wire shelve tower with one T5 bulb fixture and reflector per shelf:
The Container Store > InterMetroŽ Tower
Have you experimented with these setups? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
