Any one use the T-8 or T-5 LED tubes for growing? If so, How do they work?

You need to know if these LEDs produce the right spectrum for plants, since plants need mainly include red and blue (magenta purple) hues for photosynthesis. If only gives white light is hard to accomplish this.

This video shows an LED lamp on and you see the colors that have the lamp.

Hi, T8 and T5 are fluorescent bulbs. LED lights are completely different. The LED lights are the up and coming grow lights, but many people have been using T12's, T8's and T5's for years with great success.

From what I have found you can get them in white in different Kelvins and also blue and red.


Heres a link to what I'm talking about.....

1248 lumens each tube

For what it worth....
T8 Red is 660nm only
T8 Blue/White is 420nm/5500k (50/50 split)

Yes, sir..... I only saw these couple days ago at the hydro store and oddly enough the guy that was there had no clue about these ether..... He could tell me everything about MH and HPS lights tho!!!!
