Cody - Nice set-up. I'm a little concerned that the Tolumnia isn't getting enough light growing with the Phals, they like it as bight as Vandas.

The Tolumnia usually gets about 2,800 fc's were I normally have it. The reason it is with my phals is because if I would have left it were it was growing, the spike would have been within inches of the lights, and getting about 5,000 fc's, so I moved for the sake of the flowers.

Cody, how much light are your phals recieving on that top shelf. I'm hitting a limit on windowsill space, and looking to expand. Also, what kind of bulbs are you using? Trying to figure out what setup would work best for a small space.

Also, you know you want to update us with your current setup...

My phals are getting about 1,300-1,600 fc's. I am using two 4 foot Sunblaster HO t5's that are about two and a half feet above the plants. And other than adding five new plants and hanging a mount, there is nothing new that you would want to see.

As for the temperature in my parts, on Thursday we'll be hitting a high of 37C. It's unbearably hot to step outside. My skin feels like its going to fry! Gotta stay close to A/C. But for now I've got my catt, a non-blooming phal and my newest oncidium in the backyard. I hope they like the heat and humidity.

btw - do you have an alternative place to hang your clothes, seeing as your closet is busy?

Is it a pair of HO T5's, and what spectrum bulbs are you using? I'm wondering if a 2 bulb setup would be enough, or if I should think about a 4 bulb setup instead. And the whole grow vs bloom HO bulbs has me wondering what works best. Not the right section to ask, but since yours seem to be doing well, thought I'd see what works.

I am not sure exactly what the K number is, but on the back of the light bulb case, it showed a graph comparing it's output compared to that of the sun, and it seemed to be pretty much the same. And by the way, I keep all of my clothes in a dresser, and a few dress shirts on a chair!
