Anyone use/d Sun Hut
Hey all indoory growers. I'm eventually gonna have to move some of the chids inside once winter starts to set in, so I'm starting my planning early. I've outgrown my interior window space (haven't we all...), and I've been looking at trying to setup a interior greenhouse in our unused basement. So, I came across a couple of these hut/tents for growing, and was wondering if anyone has used this one, Sun Hut ( https://botanical.com/hydro/greenhouse/sun_hut.html), or a similar one, Lighthouse indoor greenhouse? Anybody got some thoughts/pointers?

The problem with a Sunhut type growing environment is that it's black and you can't see inside it to enjoy your flowers. It's for growing Pot. You should shop around for an old fish tank on Craig's List or in the paper and keep your extra orchids in there. That way - you can see them and they will get light from your grow light and ambient light. Additionally, you can keep some water in the bottom of the tank for humidity.

Yeah, sadly, that's what I've read. I'm just trying to max out light given off from my T5 setups, and this setup seems promising all while using a small space. I'm also looking at a bit of DIY with specialized reflective material, but sometimes a prebuilt is better.
I do like the idea of the fish tank though... It goes on the list!

You could also buy something at orchidarium.com but you'd need $$$.

Yeah, trying to keep this under some decent size budget. Some of the sun huts weren't too terrible in price. Thanks for the help

I think with the sun hut you would definately need active ventilation. Access could be a bit of a hassle.
The fish tank is very good idea and affordable. People are always selling tanks in Kijiji and Craigslist. Have known many growers using fishtanks, including me! Easy to access, maintains good humidity levels, can see what is going on, easy to add light from the top.
