Very nice! Where did you get that clear cover? That would be perfect for what I've got in mind for myself.

Hello there, (This is my first post by the way, I'm new to this site). I really like your setup. I am fairly new to orchids, have about 8 or 10, mostly oncidium and phals....I recently got the same type of shelving unit, except the one that is one step smaller...I haven't set it up yet but plan on using just one compact fluorescent fixture (200 watts), and wrap it with a clear shower curtain...it won't look as neat as yours. Does this sound like a good setup to you?
Thanks,
Dan in Austin

Looks terrific! Also curious where you got the zippered clear cover. I have those same shelves from Lowes, but wound up getting the black ones. I found the chrome started to rust after a few months.

I will need to look up the info and address. My cart is 48" X 18" but I cheated a little bit. The cart came with pieces which were supposed to protect things from falling off. I took those parts, and instead if having them up-right, I placed them behind, on the shelves flat, as an extender to the depth of the cart.

The covers came in both 18" depth and 22". I bought the 22" so it will cover it with the extra depth of my shelves. I used only 3 shelves.

I will explain my lighting:
The top and middle shelves are each lighted with 2-48" T5 strip bulbs. You can buy them individually and connect them with a joiner cord which comes with them. They only need 1 outlet if the 2 are joined together with the joiner cord. They only cost about $35.00 - $39.00, and if you think you want to add more light later you just buy another strip, and connect it to the other 2.

The bottom shelf has a regular T5 unit for the plants which take high light.

Did anyone ever find a source for the cover that she has posted in her pics? It looks like it is made specifically for that rack and slips over it like you would put on your barbecue grill cover.

THAT cover is the piece I need to figure out where to get and what it's called.

THANK YOU!
