I just got a gongora orchid a few days ago and I encountered a problem. when I bought this plant it was as heallthy as an ox but when it was in my green house after 2 days the buds started to fall of I couldn't figure out why. I keep my light on for 16 hours a day thinking that it didn't matter how long my light was on. could it be posable that my light was on to long.
While I'm not familiar with this chid, like so many other chids, when they go from one "home" to another, the changing conditions (light, humidity, temperature, air circulation) does funny things to them....well, not so funny but it happens and doesn't mean your chid is sick...and that's all the Doc has to say!
I agree with Doc. I doubt it's the light or anything to do with the light (directly). I'll bet it's the fact it was moved from the environment it knew best to yours and will take some time to get used to the new "digs". Just don't swet it as long as the plant doesn't start dumping leaves (before it's ready.)
