Grow Light Help

Hey,

so i made myself a little growlight setup on a shelf with a hanging growlight (Jungle lux linear plus) wich has around 3100 lux/195 PPFD and 8.5 DLI (when running for 12 hours, ~10 dli for 14 hours).

There is natural light in my room.

I struggle to find useful information (lightlevel needed) for diffrent orchids.

Will it be enough for orchids to run it for 12 a day (maybe 14 in winter?)

I have a lot of diffrent Orchids so i search more of a "general" suiting option. :3

Day length is the easiest to address. Most come from near the Equator, so more than 12 hours of light is not necessary. Many people use 10 hours in Winter and 12 hours in Summer.

Do some reading here on Orchid Board in the forums devoted to different kinds of orchids. Light levels are discussed a lot. Your guess is correct that different kinds of orchids need different light levels.

For species orchids, the Internet Orchid Species Photograph Encyclopedia ( orchidspecies.com ) has information on light levels.
