They Colonized Another Room
Invasive vandas are now squatting in my upstairs bathroom. Guess they heard this shower / tub go unused and are now squatting en masse. They even invited some new friends from Krull Smith and Exotic Orchids of Maui.
This works really nice actually. Easy to water, vanda lamellata is currently freshening the air.

Now that's a pretty genius setup right there! Going to have to remember that next time mother nature throws one of her cold snap temper tantrums.

My plan is always to have all the plants together on the shelves but, in addition to those plants, I have a pair of figs, a pot of Winterberry, an aloe, a Paph and some Zygos in the kitchen and I set up a little bamboo shelf in the bathroom with lights for a couple Zygos and a bonsai. Yup, they do tend to sneak to new places if the rest of the family blinks....

Must be similar levels of bad because now I want to overwinter a pepper plant and have a pepper tree the following year.

Imagine how crazy it would get if you lived in a large house all by yourself

New additional light en route and some pretty cool plants Perhaps I have been a little too honest about my addiction on this forum

Oh, my, that is an invasion I wouldn't mind at all! If I had an unused bathroom in my house, you can bet that's what I would do with it. I would love to have Vandas but there's no way I could grow them over my dining room table.
Very nice set-up!

For sev. yrs this has been my routine for watering my Vandas and Stanhopeas when temps are cold outside. Then back under growlights in the kitchen!

I can leave many orchids outside most of the winter. But when a cold snap comes, usually for a week or less, they need to come in. I just moved them back in yesterday. We're expecting near freezing temperatures, and I'm in a cold spot.

I have overwintered multiple pepper "bonsai" with success - for the right variety, it's totally worth it! I can't grow them myself right now but have seeds of several really fantastic varieties that are extremely difficult to find.
I also support all inventive methods of growing more orchids, haha. My wife disagrees with me in this respect. Balance, right?
