New Volunteer ID?
Default New Volunteer ID?

I get a lot of volunteers in my warm humid basement greenhouse environment, mostly mosses and ferns, but a few orchids too. This one is pretty interesting... It has a really nice citrus candy fragrance (a lot like phal bellina).

I found this growing in my mounted orchid area a little over a year ago and picked it, thinking it was a normal weed. I could tell from the succulent roots, however, that it was an orchid, so I planted it in the pot with my aerides odorata. That growth grew for a while and died back, then a new growth grew. It is now blooming

Any idea what it is?

I did a reverse image search and was given Zeuxine stateumatica as the match.
Common names are lawn orchid or soldier orchid, a terrestrial orchid.

Nailed it! Thanks for the help Probably overtakes the random begonia that sprouted in my drainage tray as the coolest volunteer so far
