Is this light sufficient? Male
Default Is this light sufficient?

Hello!
I got this 20W grow bar recently but I am not sure whether it would be sufficient to grow my orchids. I am attaching the spec sheet along. Please let me know if it can be used and if yes, at what height should it be from say Phals, Dendrobiums, Oncidiums and Cattleyas.

Would greatly appreciate your help!

P.S. Also let me know a good place to start reading to understand lights and spectrums and all the scientific terms.

That lamp should do well for you.

Dr. Bruce Bugbee has a number of videos on Youtube regarding light spectrum, plant physiology, etc. You really don't have to go too deep into learning about different spectrums for orchids, but it's still good information you may use later.

Of note, his teachings are based off of field crops/marijuana, and have different types of photosynthesis than some of your orchids do, such as CAM photosynthesis. I think that's a subject you may find interesting.
