Need rec for 3-shelf light cart
Default Need rec for 3-shelf light cart

Hi, I want to try growing under lights and would like a recommendation for a good light cart with 3 shelves. Blooming several general repeatedly with my natural light inside but not enough light for mini-cats and other light-lovers. Thank you.

i will not buy from anywhere else after finding webstaurantstore.com
Commercial Shelving: Restaurant Shelving & Kitchen Racks

i used the green coated SS ones outside and they are rock-solid. you can configure anything you can imagine

i have not found anything this quality for cheaper but i don't know all the other options

Unfortunately, ready to use plant light carts are pricey. There is one US manufacturer that supplies pretty much all retail distributors. (If you want to go that way, drop me a message, as I am a discount reseller buying from the same manufacturer, and I can likely get a better price than most.)

If you can swing a little bit of assembly, I think you'll get a lot more "bang for your buck" like this:

Wire shelving from Lowes or Home Depot. You probably won't use all of the shelves, but you can adjust the height to accommodate the plants.

48" LED tubes from theorchidhobbyist.com. The can be attached to the underside of the shelf above the plants with the supplied clips, or even more securely using cable ties.

►Trays for each shelf - some use "boot trays". I went with standard 12" x 24" nursery flats turned sideway, 4 to a shelf.

► If you need a humidity tent, the ones intended for large plant stands work great.

Thanks. I cannot assemble anything and it irritates my husband to try that kind of thing. He would however be happy for Christmas or Birthday suggestion even for hundreds of dollars. Can you give a link where I can go check them out? Thank you. Katherine

The manufacturer’s website is strictly wholesale, but if you find something of interest, Gardener’s Supply is one of their bigger retailers, so will give you a good idea of pricing.

If you want, you can select an item, and I’ll be happy to see what kind of price I can get from the manufacturer.

They are delivered as kits, so will take assembly.

That you very much. Will get out Garden Supply. Could maybe get other member of family to assembler once we can get together again.

A local handyman can probably do the assembly for you. I do this type of work, but I do not travel far. Where are you located?
