With all this very interesting discussion regarding mounting orchids on wood and other media, can you share your pictures of your orchids mounted this way? it's very hard for me to visualize in my head what they would look like. Thanks in advance!!!

The moss is alive and thriving! Not just looks. The mounts are at 90-99% humidity during day with a brief (2-3 hour) period at night when they dry off. Automatic misting system helps also.

Where do you find this moss and what type is it? I've found a few sites online that have some for sale, but they don't look like the types you have. Your moss looks very healthy - have you had it bloom yet?

It's a common aquatic moss, and yes all has "bloomed" that is why I have so much The spores spread everywhere. I think it's called Java moss. Check out this sequence to illustrate growth:

Today (March 17, 2008)

The things sticking out are the fruiting bodies/"flowers". This stuff thrives and spreads in moist to wet terrariums and Wardian Cases like mine. Where it comes from is anyone's guess. It's home here is 99% humidity and 1500+ foot candles and fertilized ever-other-day. Misting is every 4-5 hours automatically.
