That's really awesome! That's what I want to do next, setup some kind of enclosed super humid environment. I need to find a HUGE fish tank! And some of that moss.

Great photos everybody they are really awesome. I have some java moss! I never thought to grow it out of the aquarium.

Tim, it must be in a very moist environment. My tank is kept at 92-99% humidity for all but 3 hours at night. Also really high light makes it yurn yellow. It's best in an orchidarium at 500-800 foot-candles. The mounts I show are more than that (1000-1200 foot-candles) and the topmost moss is all yellow. I think it adds decoration to the mount. I have to pull off parts of the moss when it grows over the leaves of the orchids. Roots are ok, though.
