Default Vanda falcata mounted on olla

I just got this Vanda falcata Saturday from the Portland orchid festival, it was very happy so I thought I'd transfer it to this olla (pronounced oh-ya) since we're in the middle of a hot dry spell here in Oregon. I put down a little bit of sphagnum before I bound the little darling to the olla. I can't wait to see what comes!

I'll post a photo of mine when there is light for a pic.

FWIW, I can't fill the olla, the exterior becomes too moist for the roots to attach. It might work if RH was consistently extremely low. I treat mine like any other mounted plant.

I can't wait to see! Thanks for the tip, I'll see how well it fares in my conditions. I think the porosity of the clay plays a part in this as well, I wonder if there's something that can be done to slightly reduce the sweat coming from the olla haha

As promised.

The surface grew slimy and moldy at times (adjust, adjust, adjust) and the new roots were sliding around. I gave up on the internal reservoir and treated it like any other mounted plant. It grew fans, I saw some new roots. I pretty much just let it be.

Fast forward to present, I saw this thread. I figured I might as well take a good look.

And with the sphag removed.

On the last pic, you can see all the short failed original roots. Hasn't bloomed for me yet (it has evidence of an old spike) but that's the last thing on my list for this experiment.
Here is the beginning of the other thread. It has the most information.
