Leptotes bicolor on maple mount
I have a few new orchids that I purchased over the weekend from Parkside. One of these is a Leptotes bicolor. I have had a piece of burled maple that my husband picked up for me to use as a mount.
This is a nice piece of wood, still has some bark on the top half of the front of it with dried moss attached. It is cut like a block of wood and sits perfectly in a windowsill. I'm happy with the look of it, hope my husband will be. He has bugged me to death about not using this wood. It is in a southern exposure window.

Looking good. I want to try this one and would grow it mounted I think (I have Leptotes unicolor mounted).

Wow! Very nice, as long as the wood is clean and does not house any critters! But still looks good though.

Thank you RosieC, this is my first Leptotes and I love the color of the unicolor! May have to add that one.
Ilikeorchids, the wood is clean. I've had it for months in my kitchen. My son is a wood carving artsy nut. He makes knives with wood handles, wooden cups, spoons, bowls, a bit of everything and is always shopping at a wood speciality store. This block of maple is from that store. I like it too, and thank you.

Nice plant, and you can tell hubby that it's a very nice mount!

Yet another reason to join the latest OB project, Leptotes bicolor is a finalist...

Thank you all. The plant didn't seem to object to being mounted. It was potted in bark and kept very dry. Beautiful healthy roots. There are several new growths, a couple of them are red while the others are green. Not sure about the red color as I've only had this for a few days. Cool plant.

Well then you might as well vote when I get the poll up, and vote for that one! And if Steve is upset about yet another new orchid coming in, blame me.
