I got one of these last spring in bark mix. I mounted it and it seems to be doing just fine. I found a spike yesterday!!!

I'm really not doing well at the whole 'not going to buy more orchids' thing am I!

Steve says I can't join the project but HE can He's doing most of my watering recently and for many of them doesn't need to ask what they need. He's got to know them really well.

Seriously he doesn't mind me joining the project, but I feel guilty because it will mean adding another to the one's he's caring for for me...

...but I keep seeing ones I want and being tempted to get them

This one is so small and won't take up much room at all. It isn't even fussy! And, if you pollinate it, you can get a nice vanilla substitute (without growing the thirty foot vine!). I am thinking of voting for it just to get a second one.

What do you mean by vanilla substitute? Is this one related. How does it grow in a pot, I'm asking because when I did look it up it is very cute but I just don't think I would do very well with mounted plants. And yes I do know we are trying t learn how to grow different kinds I just hate to fail so.

It is related yes. I'm not sure it's easy to get usable beans from it, just as it's not that simple a process with vanilla either, but I understand people have done it.
