so I ordered some neoregelia bromeliads from josh's frogs off of amazon and upon finding out they were epiphytes I mounted them (my mounted catt gave me the idea) and they're amazing! I was wandering if anybody else has mounted anything other than an orchid(bromeliad,tillandsia,staghorn fern,ect.)If so any tips

I have a mounted Tillandsia cyanea that's about the size of a basketball. It's currently forming a flowering bract.

For mounting Bromeliads (particularly Tillandsia) I find that cork bark works very well, but it's hard to find and somewhat expensive. I've mounted them with and without sphagnum and find that those without the moss attach to the cork better than with moss. Tie them to the mount using florist wire to secure them. This takes several wraps from different angles to secure them properly. Once they are established the wire can be removed. One of the Tillandsia cyaneas that I did this to was so attached to the mount that when I went to divide it and remove some older growths I had a hard time removing it from the mount.

I've also grown staghorn fern on mounts. For these I used a cedar shingle and wrapped the roots with moss. Mount the same as the bromeliads. Once the basal leaves cover the moss the mounting wires are hidden. These look particularly nice this way hanging on a wall.

Here's a pic of my T. cyanea. I was a bit off about the size, it's about 1.5x the diameter of a basketball. It's mounted in a hollow on the end of a big piece of Mopani. I bought it last year off bloom, and it produced 3 nice offsets prior to this bract!
